Bernard Hyshaw

Bernard Hyshaw, 68, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2021, at Autumn Care of Portsmouth.  He was born November 7, 1952, in Buffalo, NY to the late Laura Mae Wright Hyshaw.  He also attended school in Buffalo, NY.

Bernard was a part of the men’s prayer group called the Harry L. Jackson, Jr. Prayer Line out of Fort Washington, MD.  He participated every morning as one of its Bible Leaders prior to his health challenges.

He is preceded in death by his mother, his son-Anthony Hyshaw, and his ex-wife, Deborah L. Hyshaw of Buffalo, NY.

Bernard is survived by his wife-Vellma Bullock of Portsmouth, VA; daughters-Torra Bullock of Norfolk, VA and Nikki Hyshaw of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren-DaVonn Hyshaw, Jasmine Wesson, Quanisha Trent, and Taquisha Bullock; brothers-Robert Lee Hunter (Yvonne) of Fort Washington, MD, Marion Howie, Lawrence Howie, and Maurice Howie all of Buffalo, NY; an aunt-Juanita Wright Roper of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of family and friends.
