Kenneth W. Banks

On Sunday, May 23, 2021, Kenneth W. Banks of Newport News, received his precious wings at 8:03pm at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.  With serious medical issues during the past few months, he showed his courage in facing life challenges with a joke and a smile.  Kenneth retired after 18 years of service at Coxton Auto Body Shop of Tabb, VA.

His passion was playing his favorite CD, riding his moped and always talking on his Walkie-Talkie.  The Chicago Bears was his favorite football team, and he never met a stranger.  Kenneth was always full of laughter and will keep a smile on your face and joy in your heart.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Banks; father, Clarence Banks, Sr.; sisters, Barbara Banks and Elois Irene Massenburg; and his brother, Clarence Banks, Jr.

Kenneth leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 42 years, Rosa Marie Banks of Newport News; five children-Lynette Harris (Bruce) of Newport News, Donna Cheatham (Michael) of Windsor, North Carolina, Donald Johnson (Carlene) of Newport News, Charlie Belle Johnson of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Mary Johnson of Richmond, VA; 17 grandchildren, great grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
