On Thursday, June 4, 2020, Marvin Lee Bullock at the age of 66, passed away peacefully and
entered into eternal life to be with his Heavenly Father. Marvin was born on September 6, 1953 in
Portsmouth, Virginia. Marvin was the son of the late Robert Bullock, Sr. and Doreatha S. Bullock. He
was affectionately known as “Copperhead” to family and friends.
Marvin was educated in the Portsmouth Public School system. In his early years, he was a
member of Mount Herman “Vikings Club” and he was also a member of the Mount Herman Baseball
team. He worked many years at Pilgrim’s Pride and was a carpenter. One of his many joys was spending
time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed calculating numbers on paper to derive numbers that
he would use to play the lottery.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father Robert Bullock, Sr, his mother Doreatha S. Bullock
and daughter, Angel Gray.
Marvin leaves to cherish fond memories to his two daughters, Torra Bullock (Kenneth) of
Norfolk, Virginia; Latasha Mills (Anthony) of Portsmouth, Virginia; two sons, Darrio Cost of Chesapeake,
Virginia; Emanuel Holley of Portsmouth, Virginia; two brothers, Robert Bullock, Jr. and Reginald Bullock
(Shelly); one sister, Carolyn Hainsworth; one aunt, Beulah Wilkins (Melvin); five granddaughters,
Taquisha Bullock, Kayla Mills, Desheria Black, Darria Cost and Emagine Holley; two grandsons, Deontae
Mills and Kymonte Sellers; ex-wife/caregiver Vellma Bullock; fourteen great grandchildren, five nieces,
three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
