Alphonsa E. Harrison, Sr.

Alphonsa E. Harrison, Sr. went home to be with the Lord November 11, 2019 in the presence of family, peacefully and privately.  “Zeke” was 68 years young at the time of his passing.

Alphonsa was born September 20, 1951 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Elwood Harrison and Dorothy Mae Banks-Harrison.  Alphonsa E. Harrison, Sr. was a man like his father before him who loved his entire family. He was an exceptionally proud and loving father to his children, Alphonsa, Jr. and Sonette. He shared his latter years with his longtime friend and fiancé, Constance Harmon, with whom he loved dearly.

Alphonsa is survived by his sister, Carolyn Harrison-Vaughn of Portsmouth, Virginia; fiancé, Constance Harmon of Portsmouth, Virginia; son, Alphonsa E. Harrison Jr. of Portsmouth, Virginia; daughter-in-love, Bernice Guinn-Bailey of Portsmouth, Virginia; daughter, Sonette D. Harrison-Avalos of Oceanside, California; and son-in-love, Pablo Avalos of Oceanside, Caifornia; grandchildren, Alisha, Alphonsa, Eugneya-mae, Bonnie, Xavier, Antonio, and also Ad.Gcl Shauntai, Neiomi and Dominique; one great grandchild, Morgan and also six Ad.(great) gcl; former spouse and mother of his children, Beverly Shelton; two nephews, Wayne and Donte Vaughn; three great nieces; a host of cousins and friends.

A funeral is scheduled for 12 pm on November 20, 2019 at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd, Portsmouth, VA with a repass to follow. Pastor Charles Beamon will officiate.
