Horace Rufus Epps

Our Beloved Father

Horace Rufus Epps, Sr., affectionately known as “Fox” was born to the late Junious Epps, Sr. and Elizabeth Evelyn Epps on December 28, 1938. He entered into eternal rest on November 8, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Horace Rufus Epps, Jr.. Mr. Epps was educated in Portsmouth Public Schools and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired after 40 years of working as a private contractor at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

He leaves to cherish his memory 5 children; Doris J. Epps Faulk, Barbara D. Epps Lowe, Ronald R. Epps, Avis M. Epps Miller, and Evelyn Elizabeth Epps; Sisters Bobbie Bishop, Carrie Mae Scott, Josephine Baxter, Beatrice Porter, and Marilyn Epps; brothers Linwood Epps and Junious Epps, Jr.. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
