Rev Emmanuel M. Sexton (Pastor) triumphantly transitioned to Glory on August
1, 2019 surrounded by his family with his eyes looking toward HEAVEN.
Assuredly the angels rejoiced at his arrival. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia
on September 30, 1957. He was a minister at First Church of Deliverance I for 10
years and the Pastor of First Church of Deliverance II for 30 years who fervently
mentored and lead lost souls to Christ.
He graduated from Churchland High School in 1974. Along with ministering the
word of God, he ministered in music, and own his company Sexton’s Properties.
He leaves to cherish in his memory sons DaJonn Sexton(Patrice), David Ashe Sr,
Darrell “Mike” Mitchell, Andrew Sexton(deceased), Derrick Broadous Sr.;
grandchildren Derrick Broadous Jr., Cedric Broadous; David Ash Jr., Messiah Ash,
Chanel Ash, Giselle Ash,; Diamond Mitchell; three brothers Anthony Sexton,
Bishop Andre Sexton,(Audrey) of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Reginald Sexton Charlotte
NC, six sisters Yvonne Battle(Vernon), Saundra Price(Joe), Cheryl Demiel, Marva
Morris, JeNene Credle(Fred), Tijuana Herron(Ernest). Pastor Sexton was
preceded in death by his devoted wife, Mary J Sexton; his parents Archie &
Norma Sexton; Sister Juanita Wells, his Godmother Marjorie Johnson, Brothers
William Sexton, Archie Sexton Jr. Special Friend Linda Peck and a host of other
relatives.
A memorial Service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday
at St. John Baptist Church, 2200 Effingham Street, Portsmouth, Va 23704. A
burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Corprew Funeral Home is in
charge.
