Irvin D. Jackson passed away peacefully at Maryview Hospital on December 23, 2018 in Portsmouth, VA at the age of 88. Irvin is survived by his wife Carolyn Jackson of Portsmouth, VA; two sons: Irvin Jackson, Jr. (Gwendolyn) of Portsmouth, VA and Mandele Jackson of Fulton KY; a sister, Cecelia White of Bronx, NY; two-step sisters: Elizabeth Sorrell and Margaret Creekmore; two step-daughters: Danielle Douglas (Glen) of Saint Mary’s, GA and Antoinette Watson of Gulfport, MS; a daughter in-law, Shirleen Jackson of Portsmouth, VA; a brother in-law, Ronald Watson (Yvonne) of Portsmouth, VA and two sister in-laws Andrea Lawrence and Rosalyn Pearson of Portsmouth, VA, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by Marie Jackson, Andre Jackson and Deadra Jackson- Dudley. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, December 28, 2018, 11 am at New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, 2720 Turnpike Rd., Portsmouth, VA, 23707, with a reception to follow.
