Daphine J. Goodwyn

Daphine Jacobs Goodwyn, 87, of Chesapeake, crossed into glory from her home on December 22, 2018.

She was born September 20, 1931 to Willie H. & Mamie Herring Jacobs in Burgaw NC. After graduating high school, she moved to Portsmouth VA to live with her beloved aunt Lillie Jacobs Coleman. She married James S. Goodwyn and they raised three sons: James Carnell, Tyrone Sidney, and Anton Raynard. She retired from Naval Air Reworks Facility in 1991 after 25 years’ service as an aircraft electrician. She was renowned for her giving spirit.

She will be funeralized at Noble Street Baptist Church, 100 Noble Street, Portsmouth VA on Saturday December 29 at 1:00 PM.  Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth.

Wake will be at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, Thursday December 27, 2018 5:00-7:00 PM.
