Rosa Mae Bazemore, 84, of the 300 block of Viking St., went home to glory on April 15, 2018.
She was a native of Bertie County, North Carolina. She retired from Sears Service Company. She attended John B. Bonds High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kelford, NC at an early age. She became a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in the mid-seventies.
Survivors include her children: a daughter Charlene Eaton (Michael) of Pasadena, MD; five sons, Lloyd L. Bazemore (Anita) of Chesapeake, Roney Bazemore of Richmond, VA; Keith Bazemore (Debbie) of New Carrollton, MD, Reginald Bazemore of San Antonio, TX, and Anthony Bazemore
(Terri) of Alexandria, VA; three sister-in-laws, Eva Newsome, Ethel Moore and Naomi Stancil, all of Kelford, NC; one brother-in-law: Ernest Bazemore of Portsmouth, VA; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, in-laws and friends, including a host of special friends. Her homegoing celebration service will be held on Saturday (April 21st) at 11 a.m. at New Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Portsmouth, VA, officiated by Rev. Milton R. Blount. Her final resting place will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing will be at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, from 12-8 P.M. on April 20, 2018.
