Early Friday morning on December 15, 2017, our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother John Arthur Farrow fulfilled his Earthly goal at home surrounded by his family.
John was born on July 28, 1927 in North Carolina to the late Sam Henry Farrow and Allie Harriet Farrow. He retired from the U.S. Army, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and Portsmouth Public Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church South Portsmouth and Truxton Doric Ionic Lodge # 91 of Portsmouth, VA.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife Myrtle J. Farrow (“Bae”), his children Vernita Ruffin, Vivian Bell, Phyliss Conner (Donald), Natasha Farrow, Alicia McNeil (Arnold), and Anitra Cutler (Terence), one sister Aver Parker, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be on Wednesday, December 20th from 1pm-8pm at Corprew Funeral Home. A worship celebration will be Thursday, December 21st at 11am at First Baptist Church South Portsmouth, 1445 Centre Ave., Portsmouth, VA 23704. Interment with military honors will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23321.
