Daryl S. Ransom

Daryl Sean Ransom 46, of Suffolk, VA transitioned to his eternal home on Monday, December 11, 2017.  Daryl was a native of Portsmouth, VA .  He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ransom and remaining to cherish his memory, his mother, Margaret Elliott Ransom.  Daryl was an educator for the Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk Public School Systems (upon his death).  Daryl was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.  He was an avid DJ and photographer and loved spending his spare time, developing his lawn business, cooking, traveling and planning gatherings with family and close friends.  Daryl was affectionately known as “Sean” by close friends and family.  He will always be remembered for his love to educate and mentor young children, his strong spiritual and family commitment and his sense of humor.   Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 16 years,  Joy A. Ransom; daughters,  Jayda and Daurielle ; sisters, Rosalyn Ransom and Aquilla Pendleton;  niece/goddaughter, Ashley Anderson; a devoted cousin, Jeff Elliott and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.

Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 12 noon to 4:30 pm at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, VA.  A wake is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at New Saint Thomas Baptist Church, 2700 Elm Ave., Portsmouth, VA.   A Life Celebration Service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Brighton Rock A.M.E.Z. Church, 1300 Centre Ave., Portsmouth, VA.
