Jiles P. Walls Jr.

Jiles P. Walls Jr., 79, died on July 16, 2017.  He was born on September 6, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Mattie R. Walls and Jiles P. Walls Sr.  Jiles was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  He retired from the U.S. Navy where he earned the Fourth Good Contact Award, Humanitarian Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Medal.

Jiles leaves to cherish his memory: son, Michael J. Porter Sr.; daughter, Mary E. Wallace; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Smith (Mary), Edgar Smith Sr. (Lois); three grandchildren, Michael J. Porter Jr., DeShawn R. Porter, Dominic R. Wallace; one great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Porter; three nephews, two nieces, three great nephews, four great nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing for Jiles P. Walls Jr. will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 12 Noon to 8 pm at Corprew Funeral Home.  The service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017, 12 Noon, at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment with full military honors will be at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd., Suffolk, VA  23434.
