Betty Jean Wilder, 75, departed this life on February 1, 2017 at Maryview Medical Center. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Wilder, Jr.
Jean leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, Crystal M. Wilder; two sisters, Gwendolyn Moseley and Gloria Vann; two brothers, William “Sonny” Barnes and Ronald Barnes; one granddaughter, Ashley N. Wilder; a sister-in-law, Barbara A. Wilder; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017, 11 am, at Community Presbyterian Church, 801 Tazewell St., Portsmouth, Rev. Dr. Wilbur C. Douglass III, officiating. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Sunday, Feb. 5th from 2 pm to 5 pm at Corprew Funeral Home.
