James W. Person, Jr.

James W. Person, Jr., 69, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2016. James was a very loving, caring and a spiritual person among those who knew him. James was born on September 9, 1947 in Norfolk, VA to the late James W. Person, Sr., and Mary G. Person.

Among things, James loved to read and write. The Bible was his full-time favorite. Whenever asked or challenged, James would always reference the Bible to solve one’s problem or arguments. When James spoke, people listened and the conversation ended on his final words. In the end, he was working on his book (biography) of his life experiences.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Michael H. Person and his wife Carol of Ohio, and Deon T. Person and his wife Louise of Newport News; aunts, Mrs. Chestina Fallen of Williamsburg and Myrtle Drummond of New York; uncle, Mr. Judah Person, Sr. and his son Judah (Amos) Person, Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC; nieces, Tobey Skinner of Suffolk, VA and Jennifer Go?etz and her husband Todd of O’Fallon, IL; nephews, Darrell and Vincent Person of Hampton, VA.

Funeral services will be on Friday, December 23^rd 11 am at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joseph Yancey officiating.

The Person family will like to give special thanks to all of the YANCEY family for their loyal, moral, and spiritual support that they provided to James throughout his life and career. Thank you and may God bless you all.
