Fred C. Williams, Sr.

Trustee Fred Williams was called home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2016. Born on July 11, 1932 in Capron, Virginia, he was the third child of thirteen born to the late Theodore L. and Ethel L. Williams. He was a veteran of the United State Army and obtained his formal education through the Capron Public School System. After 30 years of faithful service at the Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Virginia he retired. He attended Jerusalem United Holy Church in Chesapeake where he was a trustee and faithful servant.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Nawatha Anderson Williams; five children: Cynthia Smith, Fred C. Williams, Jr., Darryl K. Williams, Yolaine Williams and Talvi Williams; ten siblings, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  

The Homegoing Service will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11am at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Frederick Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704. Pastor Granger Flythe will officiate the service and Elder Clarence Fontenot, Jr., will give the Eulogy. The viewing is Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Corprew Funeral Home at 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704 beginning at 1pm . The Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA. The family is receiving guests at the Williams’ home.
