Charlotta A. Cooper

Charlotta Ausby Cooper, 65, departed this life on May 16, 2016.  She was the daughter of the late Cecil Calvin and Luvinia B. Ausby.  She was a retired teacher from Norfolk Public Schools after 30 years of service.  Charlotta was a member of New Living Word Tabernacle in Virginia Beach where she was a Deaconess.  She received a Master’s Degree in secondary education from Norfolk State University.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Monique M. Lucas; son, Deshawn T. Bowens; five sisters, one brother, two aunts, and host of relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by two sisters, and one brother.
A wake will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 3 pm to 5 pm at Corprew Funeral Home and the funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016, 11 am at New Bethel Baptist Church, 4212 Greenwood Drive, Portsmouth, VA 23701.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, Virginia.
