Allen Bernard Freeman, 72, departed this life on Saturday, May 7, 2016. He was born October 2, 1943 to the late Benjamin Freeman and Rosa Mullen Freeman. Bernard was predeceased by two brothers, Benjamin Jr. and Ray Freeman.
He is survived by: four children, Byron Freeman, Sonja Kennedy, Demetrius Freeman, (their mother, Betty Freeman), and Tedren Saunders; two sisters, Doris Copeland and Bettie Spence; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Bertha Mullen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, 11 am at Rehoboth A.M.E. Church, 405 Shell Road, Chesapeake, VA. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Corprew Funeral Home in charge. Viewing will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 12 Noon to 8 pm.
