Peggy S. Evans

Peggy Sharon Smith-Evans was called home on April 19, 2016 by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Peggy was born on June 8, 1955 to John Thomas Smith Sr. and the late Bernice Olivia Elliott Smith.  She was predeceased by her husband William Jerry Evans whom she married when residing in Portsmouth, VA.  She was a very loving and caring person.

We thank God for our mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt.  She will be remembered by her father John Thomas Smith Sr. (Daisy) of Portsmouth, VA; three daughters, Sheila Evans, Cherise Blackmon, and Sharon Boone; sons, Walter Boone and special son Bernard Colbert.  She leaves behind a legacy of 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, two brothers Tyrone A. Smith and Cornell Smith (Marie), as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Peggy was predeceased by her son John Thomas Evans (John-John), her sister Marilee S. Jones and two brothers John Thomas Smith Jr. (Tulu), and Calvin Smith.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016, 1 pm at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel.
