In Loving Memory Rudolph Godwin Rodgers was born on February 7, 1949. A loving father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents Rudolph R. Rodgers, Sr and Muriel E. Woodis Rodgers, siblings Veronica M. Bunch, Shelia D. Rodgers, and Reginal N. Rodgers, Grandparents: Vashti B. Cartwright, Ralph Rodgers, Willie Mack Woodis and Elvina M. Woodis. Rudolph affectionately known as Redd, grew up in the Campostella area of Norfolk, Virginia and attended Booker T. Washington High School in the 60’s. Redd was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1968. Shortly after he served in Vietnam. While in the Military he was a Petroleum Storage Specialist. Redd earned the National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he returned home, and married Barbara J. Bowman. With that union Redd fathered, Rudina Katina Bowman. Redd fought a long hard battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) because of the Vietnam war. His favorite past-time included watching Western Movies, listening to Motown Oldies Music, riding his bike and spending time with family and friends. Left to cherish Redd’s memories his loving daughter, Rudina K. Bowman of Columbus, Ohio. Siblings: Virgil L. Rodgers, Michael J. Rodgers of Portsmouth, Va., Charlene M.
