Mrs. Eloise Hawk was born to David and Irene Bazemore in Portsmouth, Virginia on April
1, 1935. She transitioned to be with her Heavenly Father on January 15, 2024. She
attended Portsmouth Public Schools, ending at her beloved I. C. Norcom High School.
She married Mr. Timothy C. Hawk and their union was blessed with (5) five beautiful
daughters: Deborah Parker (James), Veronica Smoot, Brenda Hawk (deceased), Cynthia
Pryor (Don), and Merita Eley (Terry).
Mrs. Eloise Hawk gave her heart to Jesus at an early age while attending Third Baptist
Church of Portsmouth. She later joined New First Baptist Church Taylorsville where she
faithfully served for over (60) sixty years. She taught Sunday School and worked with the
Youth Ministry. She was a part of the 5W Club, the Senior Choir, the Prayer Band, and
the Widow’s Club. She loved and praised God sincerely, singing while playing her
tambourine and letting her light shine everywhere she went. She retired from faithfully
serving the CBN Family, as well as Pat Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her (3) three sisters: Annie Mae Fullwood,
Estelle Payton, Jean Battle, her husband Timothy, her daughter Brenda, and her dear
friend, Thelma Chambers. She is survived by her (4) four daughters, and (2) two bonus
daughters: Christina (Chrissy) Hardy, and Sarah (Peach) McKibben. (12) twelve
grandchildren: Daysha Mahone (Wardell), Tinicia Odom, Corey Hawk (Tracee), Marvin
Smoot (Chauncey), Laronda Smoot, Katrina Evelyn (Sean), Emmanuel Eley (Tria), Twins
Cierra and Tierra Eley; Courtney Pryor, Brandi Finley (Bernard), Donald Pryor II, (26)
twenty-six great grandchildren, (8) eight great great grandchildren.
