On Sunday, October 8, 2023 our all-wise sovereign God called
home our precious mother, grandmother, auntie and friend,
Mrs. Lorraine Anderson Boone.
Lorraine was born on January 18, 1934 to the late Theodore
Walker and Lucille Anderson Bailey in Coefield, North Carolina.
She was educated in the Portsmouth Public School systems and was
a graduate of I. C. Norcom High School.
Lorraine was employed with the Portsmouth General
Hospital, the Simonsdale Elementary School, the Autumn Care
Nursing Home and eventually retired from Mannings Convalescent
Home with 45 years of faithful and dedicated service as a nursing
assistant.
Lorraine joined Third Baptist Church on September 3,
1961, at the age of 27. She was a faithful member of the Crusaders.
Lorraine married her beloved husband, Johnnie Lee Boon Jr. on
December 28,1962.
She was also predeceased by her two siblings, Mrs. Dorothy
Taylor Harrell and Mr. Walter Anderson.
Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Mrs.
Patricia A. Worsley (David), Mr. John Anderson (Wanda) and Ms.
Sharon D. Anderson; ten grandchildren, Johnathon Anderson,
Chelsea Anderson, Shelby Goldsmith (Bernard), Shelia Anderson,
Stephanie Worsley, Shannon Worsley, Mrs. Sophia Hudgins (D.J.),
Shantel Anderson, Katrina Anderson and LCDR Rashel Dibi
(Tano); a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
