Eric Jermaine Bazemore entered eternal rest Thursday, September 28, 2023. He was
born on April 30, 1972 to Selma Jackson Chia and Calvin Wallace in Portsmouth, VA.
Eric matriculated through the Portsmouth Public School System during his childhood
years and later obtained his GED.
Eric was a hard worker and loved to use God given talents and strengths to help in any
way possible. This was exemplified by his career training in various trades industries
including obtaining certification in welding.
Eric worked for many years at Old Dominion Peanut in Norfolk, VA and frequently
fellowshipped at Portsmouth Christian Outreach Ministry located in Portsmouth, VA.
Eric shared a special bond with Ms. Monique Moore for more than 12 years. As they
spent many years sharing laughs, special moments and love for one another and her
children. Eric enjoyed the gift of laughter and would always offer a smile to anyone he
saw. Many of his friends and family often called him “Big Jake”.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his Mother and Father both of Portsmouth, VA.
Two brothers Dwane Bazemore (Jamila) of Charlotte, NC. Titus Jackson (Erin) of
Suffolk, VA , his love Monique Moore, best friends Ron. J and Eric and many uncles,
aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.
