Katherine Chatman

On July 15, 2023, Katherine Chatman gained her heavenly wings. Katherine was born on September 18, 1933 to the late James Paul Saunders and Ethel Hill in Tillery, NC. In 1953 she met and married the late James A. Chatman, moved to Portsmouth, VA and worked diligently as a homemaker. Katherine, affectionally known as “Kat” or “Ms. Katherine”, was known for her southern cooking.

Katherine was predeceased by her siblings James Paul Saunders Jr. and Geneva Johnson. Left to cherish her memories, Katherine leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Peterson; granddaughter, Maya Moore; Son-in-law, Harold Moore and a host of friends and family.
