Olushola Muhammad

Olushola Muhammad was born on February 16, 1951, in Gaffney, SC, to the late Ruth Davidson. Olushola quietly and peacefully returned to Allah (God) on February 28, 2023. He was predeceased by his mother Ruth and brother Robert (Leelee) Davidson. He was born Joe Dean Davidson; but with a spiritual enlightening, he selected the name Olushola meaning Allah has blessed me. Olushola was a loving, faithful and caring man.

Olushola graduated from Booker T Washington High School and later joined the US Army from 1971-1974.  He accepted the Islamic faith at an early age. He never missed an opportunity to share his love for Allah with others. He would always remind us “This life, is only a test”. He was a faithful member of Masjid Wm Salaam.

Olushola was employed with Camila Foods for over 15 years. He had several other entrepreneurial ventures, owner of an Ice cream truck, driver for Yellow cab and a very memorable job the scarf and “pocketbook” man. Olushola loved working and sharing his time at Serenity Lodge. He had a passion for music which he often shared his Hit List. Olushola will always be remembered for his bright smile, witty conversations and asking, “what’s your zodiac sign.”

He will forever be remembered by his cherished children: Tamika (Johnathan) Pierce, James (Tina) Gaskins, Hombre McCoy, and Aisha Muhammad. One sister Diane Freeman and grandchildren: Nia, Nailah, Gevasico, Miles, Kiauna, great-grandchildren: Samia, Harmony, Kymoni. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
