Linwood E. Barnes, 92, departed this life on February 11, 2016 at Maryview Nursing Care Center in Suffolk, VA. He was born in Portsmouth, VA. He was a retired floor mechanic after 30 years of service.
Linwood was preceded in death by his wife, Lelia Lawrence Barnes, and son, Linwood E. Barnes, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Brenda C. Jackson-Banks of Portsmouth, VA; three sons, Stanford Barnes of Philadelphia, PA, Robert Barnes of Philadelphia, PA and Linwood Bernard Driver of Jackson, MS; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be on Thursday from 12 Noon to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, VA.
