James P. Ward

James Patrick Ward, “Punchie”, 69, was called home on Sunday, August 21,2022. “Punchie” was born on September 22, 1952, in Norfolk County VA, to the late Addie Mae Boykins and James Ward Sr.

He completed his education attending schools in the Hampton Roads area. He joined the Army in the early 1970s and served his country for 12 years 6 months. He met and married his wife, Meecha Lee, during his tour in Korea.  He was honorably discharged and returned to Hampton Roads. He worked as a drywall hanger with his father and brother for many years. He loved NASCAR racing and was very fond of a pet, Crybaby.

He is preceded in death by his parents-Addie Mae Boykins and James Ward Sr.; an older sister- Jane Ward Elliott; a brother- Robert W. Ward; a niece-Andrea “Cookie” Hill and a nephew- Jonathan A Ward.

James P. Ward leaves behind to cherish his memories a wife-Meecha Lee Ward; 2 brothers-Ronald C Ward and Laurence W. Ward and 5 sisters- Adrienne W Macklin, Angela F. Ward, Katheryn M King, Sheliah K. Ward and Sharon W. Hill; many nephews, nieces and cousins and many grand nephews and nieces.
