Margaret “Dodgie” Hall was born July 26, 1932, in Duplin County, North Carolina. She was the eighth child of 11 children born to the late Albert and Beaulah Davis.
After completing her education residing in for a short time in Duplin County, she moved to Chesapeake, VA. She worked for Chesapeake Public Schools as a Custodian with over 15 years of employment. She was a faithful member of Growing In Grace Christian Center in Portsmouth, VA. She loved the Lord and her family. She loved to hear good Gospel singing and definitely brought life in any room she entered. On March 26, 1949, Margaret married Oner T. Hall.
She is preceded in death by her husband Oner T. Hall, three sons and one daughter.
Margaret is survived by five daughters-Jean Dent of Landover, MD; Janice Marshall (Willie) of Ft. Stewart, GA, Patricia Stubblefield (Darryl) of Va. Beach, VA, Pastor Deborah Crew (David) of Portsmouth, VA and Dr.Beatrice House of Jacksonville, FL; one son- Garvia Hall of Portsmouth, VA ; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; one sister-Audrey Branch of Maryland; one daughter-in-law Charlene Hall; special nurses-Charlene Thomas and Bessie Riddick; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Although she was very outspoken, Margaret was known for her giving spirit and dedication to everyone she met. She was always there to lend a helping hand even if it came with stern words that would hurt.
She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. |
