Cora Boekhoudt

Cora D. “Bootsie” Boekhoudt, 88, died on February 26, 2022, in her home surrounded by her children, Cindy & William.  She was educated in the Norfolk County Public School System and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in 1952. She worked for 27 years as a Paraprofessional in the Portsmouth Public School System. Children were dear to her heart, and she exhibited patience, understanding, training and love when interacting with them. In 1993 she was awarded “Paraprofessional of the Year” at Churchland Primary. In 1993 she was awarded “Paraprofessional of the Year” at Churchland Primary.

She was a member of The Church of Gid Saints of Christ Belleville, Suffolk, where she was Chairman of the Pulpit Committee.  She was also a member of The GEMS, a fundraising organization for the church.  She was a member of The Daughters Chiral, and also a member of The Belleville Quorum, where she sang alto for many years, under the direction of her late husband and Choir Director, Jacob Boekhoudt, Sr.

Her encouraging words, kind spirit and inspirational deeds of kindness will be missed!!!
