Betty J. Wright departed this earthly life and entered into her eternal home with the Heavenly Father on Friday, January 7, 2022, in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was born November 6, 1937, to the late Samuel and Martha Harris in Philadelphia, PA. She was known as the First Lady of Cavalier Manor. On April 8, 1957, she married the love of her life the late Joseph R. Wright Sr. They were married for 63 years. Betty was predeceased by her sister Gracie Jenkins of Portsmouth, Virginia and a brother Samuel Harris Jr. of Philadephia, Pa. She leaves to cherish one son-Joseph (Joey) Wright Jr., of Portsmouth, VA and two daughters LaDonna Wright-Turner (Orlando) of Fredericksburg, VA and Angela D. Wright Stevenson (Pete) of Orlando, FL. Ten grandchildren-Deangela Wright, Barry Stevenson Jr, Brandon and Joshua Wright, Ashley Gene Wright, Ashley Stevenson, Lanise Barrow, Kenya Wright and Lakeshi Stevenson. Also, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Betty Wright was involved in many organizations and received numerous honors.
