On Friday, December 31, 2021, Darry Frost, was called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Norfolk County, now Chesapeake, on August 26, 1957, to the late Augusta Frost and Rosa Marie Frost. He was the tenth child of eleven siblings. He was raised in Chesapeake, VA, in a community called “Gilmerton,” and graduated in 1976 from Deep Creek High School.
Darry was known for his fun-loving spirit. He was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend. He always tried his best to help anyone in need. One of his passions was cooking. He called himself a “Chef.” He always had good food anytime someone came to visit him. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Everyone enjoyed being around him because he was always able to bring laughter.
At an early age, he attended the First Baptist Church of Gilmerton. He was known as Nuck, Boston Burner, and Buttermilk. He was called Nuck because he always had his friends/family back. He truly loved sports. He played baseball, football, and basketball. He was good in all three sports. He got his nickname “Boston Burner” because he was a good basketball player. He was recognized in articles at Deep Creek High School for baseball. His favorite NFL football team was Dallas Cowboys. He could tell you about the stats on all the NFL and college football teams. His co-workers called him “Buttermilk” because he used to tell on everyone and got away with it.
He was a welder at Global for many years. Working as a contractor allowed him to travel and meet many people. He worked in Philadelphia and as far as Hawaii. He enjoyed telling everyone stories about his many adventures. He was very thankful for all the support and love showed to him during his illness. He often mentioned how blessed he was to have so much support.
He was predeceased by his parents, Augusta Frost and Rosie Marie Frost, six brothers: Wilbert Frost (Doris), Melvin Frost, James Frost, William Frost Sr., Richard Frost (Yvonne) and Steve Frost. Also, three sisters; Wilhenimia Frost, Barbara Frost and Darlene Corprew.
Darry leaves to cherish his memory, loving sister-Arnette F. Slight of Oxon Hill, MD and brother-in-law Robert Corprew Sr of Norfolk, VA. A total of thirteen nieces and nephews; William Frost Jr. (Angelle), Freda Hart, Nicole Frost, Angela Suggs, Robert Corprew Jr. (Monica), David Corprew, Brena Frost, Tina Conley-James, Laquisha Frost, Trina Frost, Damion Frost, Gilbert Frost, Lisa Frost and Willette Frost. His best friend Timothy Sorrell “Peanut.” A host of great-nieces and nephews, family, and friends. A special thank you to Charles Slight Jr. “Chucky” for all his assistance during his illness. He will be remembered for his unselfish dedication to family and friends. |
