William LaShann Mersier a.k.a. Shawn, Big Will, Big Bro ?of Newark , New Jersey was born on April 17 ,1975. He transitioned to his new home on June 6,2020 at the tender age of 45.
“Shawn” was the son of Freddie Lee Brinson (Union, NJ) and the late Wilene Mersier (East Orange, NJ). He was predeceased by his brother Frederick Keith Brinson.
He attended East Orange Public Schools and graduated from Newark Technical High School class of 1993.
In accordance with God’s plan for his life he met and marry his beloved wife,  Keisha Elizabeth Kenney on February 15, 2002 in  Ann Arbor, MI.
In August of 2003, they made the decision to start a new life chapter in the state of Virginia. “Shawn” rededicated his life to Christ once joining Mount Hermon Baptist Temple on October 11, 2015.  He served as a faithful member and was part of the Media Ministry until his passing.
He enjoyed fishing, working on his truck, protecting his girls and spending time with his family and friends at his leisure.
“Shawn” has been a professional CDL truck driver for over 10 years and  was always a hustler with the mentality that there was no such thing as having no grind, or nothing to work for. He was a man who believed if you were early you were on time and if you were on time you were late. He was very respected in and out everywhere he went, and not just because of his intimidating size.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife; Keisha Elizabeth Mersier (Portsmouth, VA), his son; Monsun A. Mersier (New Jersey ), two daughters; Shantanae E Petway and A’janae N. Mersier both of (Portsmouth Va), two granddaughters; Ariah Petway ( Portsmouth VA.)and Si-Nai (New Jersey.) his brothers; Michael Mersier (Latasha) (New Jersey) and Bruce O’Neil (LaNail)(North Carolina), his sisters; Paulette Simmons (Rajuhn), Anita Suggs (George) and Marta Brinson (New Jersey), a loving mother in law; Gwendolyn Kenney (New Jersey), a foster daughter; Gabrielle Lawson (Hampton VA), his special auntie; Linda Selder-Brown and a host of other aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
