Vivian T. Wilder, affectionally known as “ViVi”, was born on February 9, 1944, to the late William and Laurina Thorne.  Vivian was a retired Ford Motor Company Assembly Line Worker where she worked for over 20 years.  Vivian grew up in the city of Portsmouth where she attended Portsmouth Public Schools. Vivian was blessed with a large and very loving family.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed talking on the phone, store runs with her daughter, watching Sunday services each week, configuring her lottery numbers, photoshoots with her grandkids and making videos with her grandson.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter-Angela Pearson; a brother-Lonnie Thorne (Essie); 11 grandchildren-Jawan Allen (Stephanie), Aukisha Allen, Rodriquez Allen, Sheldric Allen, Angelette Wilder, John Pearson, Jr., Ciara Pearson, Shannon Warren, Shanquita Stokes, Shemeka Washington and Ronald Washington; 22 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.  In addition, she leaves behind three bonus children-John Pearson, Sr., Melba McEachin and Patricia Deloatch; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and lifelong friends.

Vivian entered into eternal rest on February 8, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde M. Wilder; two sons-Reginald Wilder and Ronald Wilder; and also, her siblings-Louise Davis, Alvin Thorne, Wallace Thorne, Vernell Goodwyn and Ruby Thorne.

Vivian will be remembered for her smile, her fiery spirit, her love of dancing, love of laughter, her tell it like it is personality, her words of wisdom, her back in the day stories and her unconditional love for everyone.
