Timothy Fields, 63, of Portsmouth, Virginia passed away
unexpectedly on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Affectionately called
Timmy by his loving family and Tim by his friends. Timmy’s love
of welding began in high school. After high school, he joined
the U.S. Coast Guard where he perfected his welding skills and
completed certification to become a Master Welder. After, his
tour of duty, Timmy worked in the shipyard. He was very
knowledgeable and versatile. He was an expert in Welding,
pipefitting and a multitude of other skills. No task was too big
or too small for Timmy, at work or for his family and friends. He
was everything to everybody. To know Timmy was to love him.
Tim is predeceased by his fathers, David L. Fields, Sr. and
Charles A. Jefferson, Jr., son, Gary D. Fields and sister Barbara
Smith. Left to cherish his memory is his Mother and best
friend, Melinda Jefferson; special friend, Adah Stephenson;
children, Tonya Williams (Jermaine), Timothy Fields, Jr.
(Lakeita), Travis Stephenson, and Monae Stephenson; two
sisters, Geraldine Hicks (Sylvester) and Faith Jefferson; four
brothers, David L. Fields (Gwendolyn), Jr., Charles A. Jefferson,
III., Gary Fields and Darryl Fields; grandchildren, Janae L.
Williams, Jazmyn L. Williams, Terel N. Fields, Torey L. Fields,
Tanigha Costley, Marquel D. Fields, Shawn D. Reid, Gary D.
Fields, Jr., Malik Nasir, Morocco, Mali Stephenson, Brooklynn
Wilson, Travis V. Sephenson, Jr., Mekei Somptner, Jayden
Williams, Jamaria Britt; grandchildren, Jornei L. Williams,
Ka’Mari I. Phillips, Jeremiah L. Williams, Deangelo J. Williams;
nieces, Kimberly Fields, Gwendolyn Wiggins, Krystle Puryear,
