Our beloved Rocelyn Denise Corprew (59), also known as “Mac”, Roz, Evangelist, went to be in the presence of the LORD on March 11, 2020. She was born to Clarine L. Boone and the late Clyde McKnight. She was the second of of six children.
Rocelyn was loved and adored by most everyone she met. If you were blessed to be in her presence, you would even soon learn how special you were to her. She always looked for the positive in people. Roz, as most people affectionately called her, had eyes that seemed to peer right through your very soul. After all the formalities upon meeting you, her next question would most likely be: “Are you saved?” or “Do you know the LORD as your personal Lord and Savior?” or “Have you given your life to the LORD?” As you can see, Roz really love the LORD, and her earnest desire was your soul’s salvation.
Roz’s motto was to live, laugh and love. She always had a story to tell whether it was about her family, job, people that she met, some animal, whomever or whatever she came in contact with.
Next to the LORD, Roz loved her family. She married her soul mate, Robert “Keith” Corprew, on May 1, 1995. Roz loved being a wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. When she wasn’t working or taking care of her husband, Roz was in the
kitchen cooking up a delicious meal and a scrumptious dessert for the family and anyone who happened to stop by for a visit. No need to refuse, her insistence and the aroma would get you every time.
Rocelyn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult. She attended Restoration Church of Deliverance, but in recent years, she attended West Park Church of Christ.
Rocelyn was educated in the Portsmouth Public School System. She is a 1977 graduate of Manor High School (Mustangs). Throughout her adult life, Roz held several positions in various occupations. However, after completing courses at Senior Core, she had found her calling as a Personal Caregiver. She had an admirable attachment to her patients who responded very well to her care.
Roz was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Keith” Corprew.
Rocelyn leaves to cherish her fond memories:
