Robertha Quimby passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Quimby; son, Maurice Quimby; daughter, Jeanette Quimby, and son, Marshall Quimby, Jr.
Born in Yanceyville, North Carolina, Robertha was the third child in a family of five children. During her formative years, her family moved to the Hampton Roads Region, where she lived in the cities of Portsmouth, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. She married Marshall Quimby. The were the parents of eight children.
She is survived by her daughters, Marionel (Jenny) Coward, Althea Follins (Harold), and Marjel Briley (Charles); sons, Ronald Quimby and Mark Quimby (Cindy); her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of other family members, loved ones and friends.
Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 12 noon to 8 pm and the the family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018, 11 am at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704. Bishop Samuel L. Carruth, Pastor of Holy Light Church of Deliverance will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA.
