Robert Lee was born May 8, 1946 in Portsmouth, Va. He departed life on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va.
Robert was raised in a loving Christian home by his parents, Jessie and Tempie Lee who proceeded him in death.
He attended Portsmouth Public Schools and graduated from Crestwood High School in Chesapeake, Va. In 1966, he entered the Air Force where he honorably served for several years. He then moved to Rocky Mount, NC where he was employed at the US Postal Service before moving back to Portsmouth and retiring from the post office in Norfolk, Va.
Robert joined Zion Bethel United Church of Christ at an early age. During his younger years, he participated in Zion Bethel Boys Scouts of America Troop. He also attended Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, served on the Usher Board and was a member of the Youth Choir.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Jr., four brothers- Harold, William, James and Timothy Lee and one sister Jacquelyn Frazier. The memory of Robert will be cherished by his loved ones.
He leaves a legacy of love to his daughters-Carlita Coley, Montross, Va and Lakisha Lee, Portsmouth, Va., one sister Deloris Hill (Melvin), Hampton, Va and one stepson, Reginald Harper (Belinda), Rocky Mount, NC. He leaves behind 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
