Rhonda Renee Pepper, of Portsmouth Virginia, transitioned from her earthly body to join the Lord on April 17th, 2022. Born August 28, 1964, to the late Clement & Dorothy Roberts, she was a Portsmouth resident for much of her youth where she attended Portsmouth Public Schools. She later met and married her former husband, Ronald F. Pepper. Rhonda & Ronald went on to travel abroad by way of the U.S. Navy, which lead her to become the lead Ombudsman for the US Navy.

 

Rhonda later relocated to Maryland, accompanying her niece Monica Reid, where she was able to exude her love for children, working as a teacher for 5 years. She returned to her hometown in 2017 where she dedicated her final years to doing what she valued most, caring for and loving her family.

 

An exemplary woman of faith, Rhonda loved nothing more than sharing the gospel of the Lord. She possessed a bright, energetic personality & was known for her dedication to helping others. Decorating & cooking were some of Rhonda’s favorite pastimes. She touched many lives with her generosity & passion for life. The impact she had in our lives will live on forever in our hearts.

 

Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents-Clement & Dorothy Roberts; one sister-Geraldine Carver; and five brothers — Donald, Shelton, Jerome, Arthur, and Steven Roberts.

 

Those left to cherish her memories are her children-Krystal Yancey (Maurice), Jarrell Pepper (Eunice), Loveasia Pepper and Isiah Pepper; grandchildren-Maliyah Pepper, Gabrielle Yancey, Jalen Grant, Dylan Grant, Maurice Yancey Jr., Ivory & India Yancey, Gracen & Abigail Pepper, Jaxson Pepper; two great grandchildren-McKenzie and Micah Pepper; seven siblings-Thelma Gordon (Jimmy), Jeanette Roberts, Vivian Gaskins (Earl), Christine Peterson (William), Sheila Taylor (Billy), Nathaniel Roberts, Barry Roberts (Angela), and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
