Visitors are encouraged not to display signs of affection, such as hugging or kissing while inside of facilities to decrease spread of COVID19 virus. We are asking our guest to comply with guidelines such as facial coverings, temperature checks and limit visits to 3-5 minutes. Only 10 visitors are allowed at a time in the chapel during viewing hours. Thank you for your cooperation.

Renee’ Asenath Murry-Riddick was born March 13, 1952 to the late Lila M. Goode and Jerry Murry. On October 12, 2020, God called his angel home to dwell in her eternal resting place. Renee’ was a pillar of her community, who loved to serve the Lord. She gave her life to God when she was ready to define her purpose. A purpose of bringing comfort and love wherever she went and to whomever was in need.
Renee was a Legendary Pioneer in her community who loved to dance and her bingo. She was so charismatic and her smile would light up any room. Renee’s was educated in the Portsmouth Public School System where she was also a native. Her beauty and sassiness landed her a modeling career as a young adult. Later, entering the work fields as a Social Worker and getting married as well. Renee’ was a nurturing soul who always encouraged everyone wish encountered. She was so remarkable and such a PHENOMENAL WOMAN.
She leaves to cherish a husband of 24 years Maurice Riddick, four daughters – Evelyn Lomax (Kevin); Shelia Grier (Derrick); Angela Pittman (Antoine) and Latrice Robinson; one stepdaughter – Winter Harries all of Portsmouth, VA; one son – Travis Potts of Portsmouth, VA; three brothers – Jerry Murry of Portsmouth, Irvin Murry of California and Steven Goode of Boston, MA; five sisters – Barbara Goode, Lila Goode of Richmond, VA; Saunders Chambers, Ugenia Fuagua of Washington, DC and Cheryl Dixon; 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, eight godchildren – Anthony Dixon, Eugene Hunter, Tony, Shakua Rodgers, Aisha Lee, Tireona Edwards and Tyana Tabron all of Portsmouth, VA., and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
There were so many to name and we didn’t want to leave one out but we love you all of you and you know what you meant to our beloved Renee’ Asenath Murry-Riddick.
She is predeceased in death by her parents, godmother – Mary Dixon; three sisters – Evelyn “Squeaky” Murry, Roxanne Goode, Marie Hemeway; three daughters – Antionette “Juicy” Wynn, Kimberly Carey, Danielle “Dee-Dee” Jones; one niece – Rhonda Blow; one grandson – Andre’ Hall and a special friend Miriam Brown.
If we left anyone out, please don’t charge it to our hearts. Our mom meant so much to so many and it shows. Thank you.
