On Monday, August 2, 2021, God sent His loving angels, one called Goodness and one called Mercy for Tricia to come home to be with her heavenly Father. Tricia, a native of Portsmouth, Virginia was educated in the Portsmouth Public Schools. She then went to Hicks Beauty Academy to pursue her desires in becoming a Beautician/Hairstylist. Tricia being her own Hairstylist fashioned all the short haircuts; her hair always “laid-in place” and smiled when you complimented — “I Did It”.

Tricia, was raised in a Christian home, baptized and a member of New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville), served on the Junior Usher Board and Junior Missionaries. She loved the Lord and in her walk-through life she gave Him Praise for keeping her, writing in her journal daily “Never Would Have Made It Without You” one of her favorite songs by Marvin Sapp.

Tricia, loved her children always bragging on their accomplishments especially when they graduated from school. She was thankful and loved her family, sisters and especially all the nieces, nephews and cousins. When she would pop-up to visit and on special occasions, her famous words “I just came to say – I love You”, what you cook and then she was off on her merry way with her “Signature Walk”.

Tricia, was preceded in death by her father, Trustee Robert L. Askew Sr.; her mother, Trusteette Lena Askew; three brothers, Robert Jr, Wallace and Gregory; two sisters, Doris Christian and Robin Taylor; a niece, Monica and paternal grandparents, Deacon Lonnie and Deaconess Hattie Askew. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters, Tanisha and Cunisha Askew; one son, Andre Askew; two grandsons, Camari Green and Cameron Askew; her sisters, Minister Arlene Elliott, Elsie Thompson (Asa), Elder Valarie Lowry (Elder Sam), Shelia Askew, Deaconess Hattie Williams (Deacon Leslie), Brother-in-Law, Trustee Jehrome Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
