On May 24, 2019, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Oscar Worrell, entered into eternal rest.

 

Oscar Worrell was born in Hertford, NC to the late Ella Worrell and Otis Barnes. He served in the U.S. Army at a young age and worked for Sentara Nursing Home for several years.

 

He was married to the late Beverly Joyce Worrell, and from this union two daughters were born, Sonya Worrell of Lawrenceville, GA and LaDawn Watson (William) of Portsmouth, VA. Oscar also has a son, Raheem Vaughan of Suffolk, VA.

 

He also leaves to cherish his memory four grandchildren, Donte Worrell of Lawrenceville, GA; Dontario Watson of Jacksonville, FL, Jaz’ma Watson of Portsmouth, VA, and De’Yana Worrell of Lawrenceville, GA; two great-grandchildren, Ky’ree Tucker and Kailee Tucker; one brother, George Worrell of Portsmouth, VA; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Bailey, Zeler Raspberry, and Anya Worrell; two brothers-in-law, Gilbert Southall and William Clark; and a host of caring relatives and friends.

 

Oscar was predeceased by one sister, Paige Tabourne; one brother, Willie Worrell; two brothers-in-law, Homer Bailey and Willie Tabourne; and one sister-in-law, Gloria Southall.

 

Viewing will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 12 noon to 7 pm at Corprew Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019, 11 am at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Rd., Chesapeake, VA   23320.
