NaKwan Marquiese Hollis was born on November 29, 1994 to Elton Hollis and Cherrie Finney in Nassawadox, Virginia.  He was affectionately known by many as “Chee”.  He departed this life on July 31, 2021.

He began his education in Hawaii at the tender age of four.  He graduated in 2013 from Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia.  He held various jobs but the one he loved the most was being an entrepreneur.  He put his energy and love into his brand, Juggsters. Kwan loved his family and always put them first.  The bond between his mother and his sisters was an exceptional one.  He was always making sure they were good (“You Good Ma?”) . He graciously fell into fatherhood with the arrival of his son Zuri on May 8, 2020.  Zuri’s entrance into this world made a great change in Kwan and gave him great motivation to continue to strive for excellence. Kwan took great pride in his locs and often joked his mother that she was cheating when she got hers braided into locs.  His favorite football team was the Atlanta Falcons.  He enjoyed playing his Playstation.  His love of sneakers turned into a collection hobby and flowed over into Zuri, who has a collection of his own awaiting his tiny feet to fill.

In life he never met a stranger.  All who knew and loved him will miss his infectious smile and loving spirit.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother – Pam Finney and maternal great-grandparents – Tom and Carol Rienerth. NaKwan leaves to cherish his loving memories within their hearts: one son, Zuri Hollis of VA; mother Cherrie Finney (Antonio) of Virginia; father – Elton Hollis (Sonya) of North Carolina; sisters – Tori of Virginia, Aza of North Carolina, Chela and Iyanna of Virginia; Zuri’s mother Morgan McCoy of Virginia; grandparents – Joe  and Patty Finney of Texas; special grandmother Katrina (Chris) Coles of Alabama; aunts and uncles – Keith (Ronda), Shannon, Joe Joe, Omega, Carla (Andrew), Mike, Illy, Joey, Nakesha, Saquita, Naim, and Kanethia; great-aunt Patti and a host of cousins and too many friends to count or name.

You meant the world to us and our days ahead will be extremely hard.  There aren’t enough words to describe all the love that we have for you or that you have for Zuri, your family and friends.  You may be gone from our earthly world but within our hearts you shall always remain forever and ever.
