Melvin (Cookey) Hooks, Sr.-Son, Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Cherished Loved One and Dearest Friend

 

On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, Melvin was called, he answered, and the Lord took him home.  Melvin (Cookey) Hooks was born to the late James W. Harper and Mary E. Hooks on August 24, 1946.  Melivn was a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School in the city of Portsmouth.

 

Melvin later became a welder in the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.  He then transferred to Sparrow Point Shipyard in Baltimore, MD.  Later years, he got tired and tried his hand in many things like home improvement, property grading and carpet cleaning.  Melvin was very passionate and kind to everyone he would meet.  He loved his family and family life as well!

 

Melvin (Cookey) Hooks leaves to cherish his memories his wife-Evelyn D. Hooks; his brother-Leroy A. Harper; his twin brother-Milton (Barbara) Hooks; stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special friend, Ms. Emily.
