Mary W. Harris passed away peacefully into eternal rest on August 31, 2020. Mary was a native of Chesapeake, Virginia, born to the late Charlie Walston and Mary Ella Valentine on February 6, 1934. She was one of three children. She accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of Divine Baptist Church, Chesapeake, VA., where she attended until her illness.
Mary retired from Great Bridge Primary where she worked for 30 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was blessed with four children. Left to remember her memory is one sister Mildred L. Elliot, three sons, Johnnie Harris, Jr. and his wife Kim of York, Pennsylvania, Carlton Harris and Purcell Harris of Chesapeake Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Ella Valentine and Charlie Waltson; one brother, Charlie Waltson; a daughter, Cassandra Harris and a grandson, Kyle Otto.
