Mary Small Hayes was born to the parents of George C. Small Sr. and Cora Small on October 4, 1929, in Portsmouth Virginia. She entered eternal rest February 2, 2023, in Portsmouth Virginia.
Mary was employed with Beverly Manor Nursing Home where she was a dietary aide. Mary enjoyed loving and working with her patients. Mary was known for her heartfelt gratitude and was a joy to be around.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Hayes, Sr.; daughter-Juanita Nichols; son-William Hayes (Patricia); and grandson Jonathan.
Mary Hayes leaves to cherish her memory a loving sister-Eloise Blagmon of Baltimore MD; brother- George C. Smalls Jr of Chesapeake, VA; a son-Pierre Haye (Ruth) of Portsmouth, VA; two grandsons- Michael Nichols and Levar Nichols; two step grandchildren-Ceelrick and Porscha Bryant; 13 grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
