Mary Katherine McNeil Hines was born on August 8, 1925 in Richmond, Kentucky to Jasper Shearer and Anna Mae Shearer. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and lived her final years in Belleville (Suffolk), VA. She was married to Ezekiel McNeil, and from that union came two children: Phillip and Joyce Ann. She was later married to Richard Hines. Mary Hines passed this life on April 4, 2018
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Hines, her brother Jasper Walter Shearer, and her niece Barbara Ann Hayes. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister: Ella Montgomery of Cincinnati, OH; her son Phillip McNeil (Charlene) of Chesapeake, VA; her daughter: Joyce Ann Madison of Suffolk, VA; three nephews: William Montgomery (Patricia) of Houston, TX, John Montgomery (Alma) of Reston, VA and Kurt Shearer of Cincinnati, OH; one niece: Stacey Barnes (Monroe) of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren: David McNeil (Adrian) of Brooklyn, MD, Marcus McNeil (Nichelle) of Hampton, VA, Leah McNeil of Chesapeake, VA, Stephanie Moses of Cincinnati, OH, Kimberly McClure of Cincinnati, OH, Bobby Callaway (Autumn) of Harrisburg, PA, and Kristie Joi Harfield (Steve) of Harrisburg, PA; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; special care giver: Rosa Brown; special friends: Phyllis Barfield and Joyce Huss; numerous friends from The Orchards Senior Apartments at BelleHarbour; a host of other relatives and friends.
Home going services will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 10:00A.M. at Temple Beth El, 3927 Bridge Road, Suffolk, VA 23435. (Public viewing April 14, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Corprew Funeral Home.)
The family will gather at 9:15 A.M. in the Lobby of The Orchards Senior Apartments, 1050 Belle Orchard Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435.
