Mary Frances Newby quietly departed this life to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia.
Mary was born on March 5, 1952, in Portsmouth to Charlie and Lizzie Brodnax. After graduating from I. C. Norcom High School, Mary Frances started her career at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She retired as a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor after 25 years of service.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Liva Michael Newby, as well as her mother, father and her brother Charlie Jr.
She is survived by her two children, Lamar Broadnax & Tiwana Monique Rountree, as well as her daughter in law Paula-Marie Rountree. Her three siblings Ethel, Bobby and Geraldine Brodnax, as well as her grandson Ashawn Bowden. She leaves cherished memories with great family and friends.
