Louise White, a native of Portsmouth, Virginia, was born September 16, 1930.  She was one of nine children born to the late Josephine and William Gibson. She was taken to God’s Garden on April 13, 2019 at the early age of 88 while resting at home.

 

 

Louise was educated in the Portsmouth Public school system.  She decided to leave school without finishing and went to work because times where so hard.  Over her 88 years of life she traveled and worked many jobs.  Louise retired from Manning Convalescent Home.

 

 

She than gave her life to Christ and joined Holy Light Church of Deliverance and was a faithful member.

 

 

Louise was devoted to her two sons. They would often go out to eat; going to different restaurants every time. Her most favorite thing to do was read her Bible.

 

 

Louise leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Billy Ray White Jr. of Portsmouth and Robert Lee White (Verna) of Richmond, Virginia.  Four granddaughters, Cyani Glover, Rolecya White, LaToya Jefferson and Martika Jefferson. Three great-grandchildren, Cyani Amora Marshall, Emanuel Roshun Marshall, and Imani Glover.

 

 

She also leaves a sister, Rosa Mae Crandle (Ray) and brother Vernon Lee Gibson both of Portsmouth, Virginia. A devoted niece, Delores Whitley with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by one sister, Mary Gibson, five brothers; William Gibson, Alonzo Gibson, Paul Gibson, James Gibson and Robert Gibson.

 

Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 12 noon to 8 pm and a wake will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm.  The funeral will be on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 11 am at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA  23704.  Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth, VA.
