Lonnie McKinley Ruffin, “Shakey,” 70, entered his eternal rest on October 25, 2017. He was a native of Portsmouth, VA and was the son of the late Deacon Lonnie Ruffin, Jr. and Deaconess Rosa Ruffin.
He leaves to cherish his memory 1 daughter, Wanda Daughtry (Nathaniel), 5 sons Lonnie Gregory, Lonnie Ruffin (Felicia), Anthony (Devonya), Jermaine (Dionetta), Shawn (Twana), 4 sisters Jean Logan (late George), Shirley Rivers (James), Simonee Thomas (Rev. Bernard), Angela Griffin (Theoplis), 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 12 Noon to 8 pm and the family will receive friends there from 6 pm to 8 pm. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, 11 am at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake, Virginia 23321.
