Lois Evon Fate was called home by her Savior, Jesus Christ on January 18, 2024. She was born to the late James Fate and C. Lee Fate on March 11, 1953. Lois was educated in the Portsmouth Public Schools and was a member of Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church for many years.

She was previously married to Robert L. Spencer, Sr. and of this union two children were born – Robert L. Spencer, Jr. (deceased) and LaTeshia Evon Winstead. Prior to retirement Lois was employed at the Nevada Correctional Systems as a Corrections Officer.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents James and C. Lee Fate, brothers JamesT. Fate, Frank Earl Fate, sisters Carolyn M. Eure, Barbara J. Rhodes, Linda A. Rhodes and brother-in-law Henry A. Rhodes. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lateshia, two granddaughters Alivia S. Dickens (Marquis), Antonia R.Barbee (Derrick), two great- grand children Astro A. Barbee and Aultra V. Barbee, one sister M. Jean Fate along with one aunt Mrs. Pauline Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
