Linda Harris, age 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 29, 2016, at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA. She was born on July 11, 1949 and a native of Portsmouth, VA were she lived the majority of her life.  Linda truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with her grandchildren, being around family and friends, being apart of every family gathering and being a super fan of the Washington Redskins.  She was a volunteer for the Deloris D. Mayo 5k Walk  for Sarcoidosis Foundation for the past 4 years.  She loved being a part of the family operated event, and enjoyed handing the participants bottled water and talking with everyone with a listening ear or who would strike up a conversation. She had a giving and caring spirit about her, which everyone loved.

Linda was born to Albert Harris, Sr. and Ethel (Dunbar) Harris, the 4th child and the youngest girl of seven children.  Linda had two beautiful daughters.  Her oldest, Kennett Harris, preceded her in death and she is survived by her youngest, Da’Shayla Harris, of Petersburg, VA.  Linda also was preceded by both of her parents, and her brother Albert Harris, Jr.

She also is survived by her sisters and brothers, Marie Reid, of Nevada, James Harris, of Tennessee, Freddie Harris, of Florida, and Mayjoce Watson and Ricky Harris of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren, Deondra, Zavion, Jeania,  Aubani, Braycen, Hayden, and Hailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Corprew Funeral Home, 1822 Portsmouth, VA.  23704.  Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Rd, Chesapeake, VA.  Viewing will be held Monday, March 7th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  On the day of service, the family will assemble at 703 7th St. Apt F, Portsmouth, VA.
